Sugar or glucose syrup
Sugar depletes essential vitamins and minerals, affects mood, behaviour, concentration
levels and has been linked to causing bone mineral loss. [The Food Commission. Geary, A
The Food and Mood Handbook]

Agave syrup
Agave syrup is a highly concentrated sap from the Agave plant (it resembles an Aloe Vera
succulent plant). Latest research findings have shown that it is highly stimulating to the
nervous system and is processed, in a similar fashion to High Fructose Corn Syrup (a corn
extract).
Growing evidence to support it's withdrawal has mounted since 2009.
Sales at the UK's leading raw food organisation, The Fresh Network have ceased
accordingly and they withdrew it from sale early 2010.

Xylitol
Xylitol is man made artificial sugar substitute.

Honey
Honey is treated as sugar in the blood stream; it causes stress to the pancreas to release
additional insulin for balance. Bees produce honey as a concentrated food for their young.
The substance is regurgitated from them.
